the Sale of
“The Brigham Collection”
About a month ago, we received a press release announcing that Mr. Ron Brigham had decided to sell his stamp collections. Collectors around the world should take note of this as, according to some experts, the collections include the greatest and most complete collection of Canada ever assembled.
will be providing more complete details of the stamps that Mr. Brigham
intends to offer in a series of auctions later this year. But to give
our viewers an idea of some of the extraordinary material the collections
contain, we provide hereunder a few examples:
We could write pages about each of these stamps, and in fact we intend to do so as details become available. Suffice it to say that the 2¢ Large Queen on laid paper, shown above (Scott 32, catalogue value $200,000), is one of only two that exist.
For purposes of the sales that are planned, Mr. Brigham has a reactivated his auction house, Brigham Auctions Ltd., (www.brighamauctions.com), and has appointed Mr. Charles J.G. Verge as Chief Executive Officer. More recently, Mrs. Tracy L. Shreve joined the firm to personally oversee the sales.
We are in for
exciting times and will provide further details of the proposed
sales as they become available. News of the sales have already been
published by Mr. Bret Evans in the April 23, 2013 edition of the
